<p>Local rules for the 18-hole course at Birkemose Golf Club.</p> <p><strong>Markings</strong></p> <p>White markings → Out of bounds<br /> Red/Yellow markings → Penalty areas<br /> Blue markings → Ground under repair<br /> Green top → No Play Zone<br /> Drop zones → Marked with a sign</p> <p>Markings may be stakes, plates and/or lines.</p> <p><strong>Immovable obstructions</strong></p> <p><strong>Trees with support stakes</strong> are immovable obstructions, from which free relief is allowed under Rule 16.1.</p> <p><strong>Distance markers on the fairway</strong> are treated as immovable obstructions, from which free relief is allowed under Rule 16.1.</p> <p><strong>Robot mowers</strong> that are in the charging station or have stopped on the course are treated as immovable obstructions. Relief under Rule 16.1. </p> <p><strong>Drop zone Hole 17</strong><br /> If a ball is in the first penalty area, in front of teeing area 50 on hole 17, including when it is known or virtually certain that a ball that has not been found came to rest in the penalty area, the player has these relief options, each for one penalty stroke:</p> <ul> <li>Take relief under Rule 17.1, or</li> <li>As an extra option, drop the original ball or another ball in the drop zone in front of the penalty area. The drop zone is a relief area under Rule 14.3. </li> </ul> <p><strong>Provisional ball for a ball in a penalty area</strong><br /> If a player does not know whether the ball is in the penalty area directly in front of teeing area 50 on hole 13, the player may, contrary to Rule 18.3a, play a provisional ball under one of the 3 relief options for a penalty area in Rule 17.1d. When it must be decided whether the provisional ball becomes the ball in play as normal under Rule 18.3: </p> <ol> <li>if the original ball is found outside the penalty area, play must continue with it</li> <li>if the original ball is found in the penalty area within 3 minutes, the player may choose either to play the original ball as it lies or to continue with the provisional ball.</li> </ol> <ol> <li>if the original ball is not found within 3 minutes, or it becomes known or virtually certain that it is in the penalty area, the player must continue with the provisional ball.</li> </ol> <p><strong>Out of bounds behind the green Hole 9</strong></p> <p>A ball that comes to rest on or beyond the road behind the green on hole 9 is out of bounds, even if it comes to rest on another part of the course that is in bounds for other holes.</p> <p><strong>Out of bounds behind the green Hole 11</strong></p> <p>A ball that comes to rest beyond the out of bounds stakes behind the green on hole 11 is out of bounds, even if it comes to rest on another part of the course that is in bounds for other holes.</p> <p><strong>BREACH OF THESE LOCAL RULES:</strong><br /> The general penalty (Stroke play: 2 penalty strokes, Match play: Loss of hole)</p> <p>Approved by the DGU, March 2025</p> <p><strong>Other information: </strong>Distance markers on the fairway (red: 100 m, yellow: 150 m and white: 200 m) indicate the distance to the front edge of the green, measured in a straight line.</p> <p><strong>Temporary local rules applicable throughout 2026 (due to the fairway irrigation project)<br /> </strong><strong><u>Applicable for holes 8–18:<br /> </u></strong><span style="font-style: inherit;font-weight: inherit">Areas cut to fairway height or shorter, where there is soil and/or newly sown grass after installation of fairway irrigation, are a No Play Zone treated as an abnormal course condition. Relief must be taken for interference from the No Play Zone under Rule 16.1f.”</span></p> <p> </p>

<p class="p1"><b>Birkemose Golf Club should be a cosy and pleasant place for both members and guests. Therefore, we ask everyone to follow these guidelines: </b></p> <ul> <li>Repair pitch marks on greens.</li> <li>Replace divots.</li> <li>Rake bunkers and place the entire rake down in the bunker.</li> <li>Keep up pace of play and let faster groups through.</li> <li>Course staff have absolute right of way.</li> <li>Dogs on a lead are allowed.</li> <li>Access to private property outside the out of bounds markings (all white stakes surrounding the course), as well as in the gully on hole 11, is prohibited.</li> <li>You must be 18 to rent and drive a buggy.</li> <li>Golf carts/buggies are not allowed on the Pay & Play course.</li> <li>Green fee bag tag must be worn visibly.</li> <li>The DGU etiquette rules for behaviour on the course apply, and members must treat each other and staff in a good and respectful manner.</li> </ul> <p>Welcome to the country’s cosiest club.</p>
